Decorative Antiques
Busts, faces and heads
Marble, wood, alabaster, metal and even wax, these are generally 19th or early 20th century objects. Eclectic, bizarre, tactile and beautiful.

These beautiful and desirable objects are hard to find and only become available rarely.
Busts and heads
Good busts are very hard to find, non-repro ones, anyway.
Shown here is a detail from Le Genie de la Danse by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. Strictly speaking, this one is 'after' Carpeaux as it's a copy made in wax.
It's part of the 'lost wax casting' or 'cire perdue' method, in which molten wax has been poured into a mould, and the end result - as you see here - is a pre-cursor used to make the final mould and repro models, probably in bronze.
They are delicate and rare. And they have a beautiful glossy and tactile, skin-like quality, which makes them uniquely appealing.
