AMOURETTE
Moody, mercurial and sometimes macabre antique portraits, paintings, busts and other decorative antiques for the discerning and curiously imaginative.

Portraits and paintings

Paintings sourced mainly from local markets in the South West of France, as well as La Braderie de Lille, Amiens, Creve-Coeur and other larger markets throughout France and Belgium.

Many are oils, some framed, some signed, some not.

By its very nature, good antique stock is becoming rarer and harder to find. Canvas distorts and tears, paint dries, fades and flakes, frames warp, chip and crack, but evocative and atmospheric portraits, still lives and landscapes are still out there if you know where to look.

Busts and heads

Paintings are hard to find, but good quality, interesting, period busts are even harder.

Crafted or sculpted from wood, metal, alabaster, marble and, maybe most interestingly, wax.

Trawled from  the markets, brocantes and braderies of France.

Sometimes a little bizarre, but always captivating, unique and beautiful
